What I've been Watching on YouTube - July 2026
Here’s some more videos I’ve been watching in July! Not too many videos this time!
I Found a Secret Tunnel at a High Security Hotel | swilliamism | 36:03
Swilliamism returns to a high security hotel and has a look around. I think this hotel hosted the Bilderberg Group or something a few years ago.
Peaceful Dawn in the Cotswolds | Early Morning Walk Through Baggendon Village | Travel Beauty in Motion | 23:12
Lovely walk through Baggendon in the Cotswolds.
C Header Files from Scratch | Daniel Hirsch | 39:03
Very simple example/explanation of the use of header files in C, I am definitely going to try and properly learn C soon, maybe for the new channel.
Building a Simple HTTP Server in C | Bare Metal Studio | 41:20
Someting I want to get into, making client/server programs in C. Saved for future reference.
How to write an HTTP Server from scratch in C (in 48 minutes) || HTTP Server Part 1 | Lion | 48:14
Ditto.
24 Hidden London Gems You Won’t Find in Any Guidebooks | Sophie Nadeau | 20:44
A look at four London districts and their history.
Glanni Glaepur i Latabae - Full Stage Play 1999 - Latibaer LazyTown | LazyTownFanClub | 1:35:19
I had no idea LazyTown existed prior to the 2004 TV series, I was a bit of a fan. This is the 1999 stage play.
The Hidden History Underneath Manchester Victoria Station | Martin Zero | 46:42
More about the hidden history of Victoria Station in Manchester, very interesting.
The Town With 30 International Borders Running Through It | The Tim Traveller | 12:23
Very interesting (but short) video about the complicated border town of Baarle-Nassau/Hertog between the Netherlands and Belgium. Did I mention I’d really like to go back and visit the Netherlands and maybe even live there one day?
Inside Clarence House - The King’s Private Home | Allan Barton - The Antiquary | 32:21
Interesting video (all of Allan Barton’s videos are interesting!) about the history of Clarence House. Would I live there if I was king? Probably not.
Can You Reach 60 By ONLY Killing Demons? | ScorpRogue | 6:58
Shameless rip-off of MMONerd’s idea of levelling by only killing undead mobs, but I liked this video, subbed to him.
Why London Is the Opposite of Every UK City | Versed | 13:34
Video about London and how it’s so different to other UK cities. I don’t think most towns/cities in the UK want to be like London anyway.
1536: What Was a Day Like for Henry VIII at Hampton Court | Dynastypical | 28:03
Some wonderful AI slop about Henry VIII, there are some hilarious parts in this video where Henry is 3 times the size as everyone else, apart from that, nice video.
1955: What Next for Germany? | Special Enquiry | BBC Archive | 30:26
Video about West Germany ten years after the war ended.
Disaster | Escape From Jupiter - Episode 1 | Twisted Lunchbox | 23:21
Been watching an episode a night of this Aussie kid’s sci-fi series, it’s ok, reminds me of when I was young, programmes like this always inspired me to write and draw for my little worldbuilding project ‘Dinak’, a human colony on Mars set in 3090AD. It must have been 1990 when I started it. I had a massive map of Dinak on sheets of A4 paper I could reassemble on the floor, I still have the folders with everything in.
Terminal Clock in C | Daniel Hirsch | 47:27
Making a very basic updating terminal clock in C, I’d like to do this in Java. I want to learn C too, but I don’t know it’s as if there’s so many ways to do something and sometimes one way is not the best way. There’s also differences in the language between operating systems, that puts me off it.
England, London’s Richmond During 30°C Heatwave | Watched Walker | 1:10:12
Another Richmond video, lovely view at 32:24. Looks like a nice area of London.
Cornish Folklore | Myths & Legends from the End of the Land | Story Crow | 2:12:38
Long video about Cornish folklore, nice.
HomeGrown Devlog - Finishing the Main Menu | ThinMatrix | 19:07
Love this guy’s videos, I want his life. I want a room like that to sit and code/game in.
I Built My First Linux PC (at the best time) | Foci | 17:00
Guy builds a Linux AMD computer. I want to do this some day, want lots of PCs.
The Future of WoW is Not This | Kneecap Jake | 14:39
Another Kneecap Jake WoW video. WoW must be so confusing for new players, there are so many different versions now. I only play retail these days.
can you have a night out in Fallout New Vegas? | Honest Gaming | 38:16
Thought this was quite a funny concept and well done, this guy usually does videos drinking in pubs in rough areas.
Remembering 1990s Manchester | LONELY GUY | 6:40
A nostalgic look back at old Manchester. I miss the Corn Exchange and the Coliseum (and Jilly’s, of course!), so much of old Manchester is now gone.
And that is it for July, more videos next month! Below is my viewership chart for the past 7 days, 4hrs 48mins - rookie numbers!
